house wren studio session no. 1

i had a fabulous time at charlotte lyon's first "house wren studio sessions" workshop! the day started reallllly early with my dear friend meleen and her terrific hubby letting me catch a ride with them up to beautiful westchester county...

when we arrived at the location of the workshop (charlotte's friend's gorgeous home) we were wonderfully greeted and escorted into the parlor...this is what our place settings looked like...

 

lining the tables were examples of charlotte's cottages for us to look at for inspiration and guidance...

  

 

soon after arriving i heard some giggling out on the porch...

who could it be??

none other than my pal...amy powers!

  

and my other pal...hope wallace!

my cottage is 

"still under construction"...

unfortunately i can't work on her now since i am eating, breathing and dreaming all things silver bella right now...but charlotte says that this project is the type that you work on for months ...adding bits and pieces here and there. whenever you have the inkling...should be fun to see how the "rickety ole' shanty" turns out...hee hee! (joke for you pam!)

last week we had some beautiful weather here on long island. love it when the warm days of indian summer come around...michael and i headed out for a leisurely drive to montauk.

2. there is nothing like the warmth of a kitty sitting on your lap

3. children like LOVE when their mothers bake for them

4. autumn scented candles make you feel all warm inside

 

5. there will always be a “to do” list so don’t stress out…just tackle one project at a time and enjoy the process

 

6. you can never have enough ribbon and lace

 

7. if is fun to people watch with your teenager and laugh together

 

8. taking time out to nurture yourself is priceless

 

9. vintage millinery flowers have the power to make you smile : ) : ) : )

 

10. seasons come and go…but the Word of God will never NEVER change

a few weeks ago i had the pleasure of attending the peconic lane shops annual flea market hosted by white flower farmhouse...a lovely shop located on the north fork of long island. it is one of my favorite places to visit.

autumn lovin'...
